PASTEL PAINTINGS
A STORY OF THIS ARTIST
"If art reflects life, it does so with special mirrors" - Bertolt Brecht
My art expresses what I'm emotionally attracted to in my observations of nature, animals, and people. To visually express myself through art is an opportunity for me to share my feelings with others. I learned to use a camera many years ago, which I feel helped me learn composition, shapes, and color. Over the years I've been on a continuous and changing journey to become as good as I can be in my art. After experimenting with other mediums, I began working exclusively with soft pastels in 2003. Now, I find that I enjoy the intense colors and the process of drawing, blending and inventing new techniques, and even the dusty mess.
